About Me

I’m a 23-year-old journalist and photographer based in Melbourne, Australia. In 2023 I graduated from Swinburne University of Technology with a BA in Journalism and Sociology.

My writing currently exists mostly within the arts and culture realm with a strong focus on skateboarding, art and music. I enjoy approaching topics from the outside in. When interviewing, I like looking at what external factors have influenced the art of artists, whether that be their upbringing, their location, their life, or their interests. I don’t want to separate the art from the artist. I want to understand how the artist’s life informs the art.

My thoughts on my photography are similar, wanting to document people in the spaces they feel most comfortable, whether that be their homes, studios, offices or even on the street. Capturing how they live, what their visual inspirations are and finding interest in the every day, making them as human as possible, no matter who they are.

At Monster Children, I have complete reign over a fortnightly column where I write online articles on Australian skateboarding and skateboarders. I write articles with an emphasis on stepping away from the traditional skateboarding media style of writing that focuses solely on skateboarding. Being dedicated and creative, a lot of the time skateboarders are successful in their fields outside of the sport. I want to highlight and celebrate that. I wrote the cover story for issue 72 of the magazine, an interview with professional skateboarder Nora Vasconcellos. I also write branded content for the website for clients that include Polo Ralph Lauren, Red Bull and Dickies.
